Position Summary:
We are seeking a Grants and Donor Relations Specialist to support our fundraising efforts through grant writing, donor stewardship, and engagement initiatives. This role plays a critical part in securing funding, maintaining strong donor relationships, and ensuring consistent, meaningful communication that supports the organization’s mission and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Writing & Fund Development
- Research, write, and submit grant applications (approximately 50% of role)
- Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and outcomes
- Collaborate with program and finance teams to gather proposal data
- Support development of funding strategies aligned with organizational goals
Donor Stewardship & Engagement
- Manage donor acknowledgment and thank-you communications
- Support donor recognition and retention efforts
- Maintain accurate donor records and tracking systems
- Assist with development of donor engagement strategies
Development Team Support
- Support fundraising campaigns and initiatives
- Assist in preparing reports and materials for donors and stakeholders
- Collaborate across the Development Team to align messaging and efforts
Performance Expectations:
- Timely and high-quality grant submissions
- Strong grant success rate and contribution to funding goals
- Consistent and meaningful donor communication
- Accurate donor tracking and reporting
- Support of overall fundraising and engagement targets
Incentive Opportunity:
This position is eligible for a performance-based incentive program tied to grant funding outcomes. Incentives are based on achievement of established goals and are designed to reward strong performance and successful funding results.
Qualifications:
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or donor relations preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management systems preferred
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion
Education & Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Previous experience in grant writing or donor relations strongly preferred
