Farmer’s Market Program

Fresh food access for healthy living

The Farmer’s Market Program helps eligible seniors access fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables at approved farmer’s markets throughout the Mid-Columbia region.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Age 60 or older

  • Live in Benton or Franklin County

  • Meet income eligibility guidelines

How to Apply:

  • Complete all sections of the application clearly

  • Mail or drop off the application at our office

  • Cards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis

  • If approved, benefits are typically received within 2–4 weeks

Participating Farmer’s Markets

FREE Bus Passes for Seniors 65+

Making transportation easier

In partnership with Ben Franklin Transit, Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels offers free bus passes to seniors age 65 and older.

These passes help improve access to:

  • Dining sites

  • Medical appointments

  • Grocery stores

  • Community activities

Program Details:

  • Valid for all fixed routes and CONNECT services

  • Limited quantity available

  • Distributed on a first-come, first-served basis

All of our dining locations are now BFT destinations, making it easier than ever to enjoy a hot, nutritious meal and meaningful social connection Monday through Friday.

Basic Foods Program

Additional nutrition support

The Basic Foods Program helps eligible individuals increase access to nutritious food through monthly grocery benefits.

This program supports seniors and households by providing additional food purchasing assistance via an electronic benefits card.
